Living Wills

A living will allows expression of desired for end-of-life medical care.

The living will is also referred to as an advance directive or directive to physicians and may be part of a comprehensive estate plan.  Typically these legal documents will incorporate statements that life-prolonging procedures that would only serve to artificially prolong life such as nutrition and hydration that are administered by invasive procedures along with other mechanical devices will not be used when the creators medical condition becomes both irreversible and terminal.
